One of the latest developments in the automotive world has been the introduction of a new electric truck. The Chevrolet Silverado EV and the Ford Mustang Mach-E are two examples of these vehicles. Both of these trucks offer impressive power and are designed to be driven on highways and at freeways.
Chevy Silverado EV
Chevrolet has officially announced plans to introduce its new Silverado EV electric pickup truck, and its debut is expected to be in the fourth quarter of 2023. The Chevy Silverado EV will be built in Michigan. It will be powered by two electric motors that provide 664 horsepower and 780 pound-feet of torque.
Powered by General Motors’ Ultium battery technology, the Silverado EV will offer 400 miles of range on a full charge. The Chevy EV Pickup also has the capability to add 100 miles of range in just 10 minutes with DC fast charging.
Chevrolet claims the Silverado EV will be able to tow a maximum of 10,000 pounds. It will have a 3.5-second 0-to-60 time, and can go from 0-100 km/h in less than four and a half seconds.
Ford Mustang Mach-E
Ford’s new Mustang Mach-E is a luxurious all-electric crossover SUV. It comes in four main trim levels. Each of these trims offers a slightly higher range and better standard content.
The Mach-E’s standard battery pack gives the rear-wheel-drive model 247 miles of driving range, while the all-wheel-drive version can get up to 314 miles. The battery pack is available in 70 or 91 kWh.
The GT trim comes with a stronger front electric motor and higher acceleration speeds. The GT Performance Edition also includes a panoramic sunroof, adaptive suspension, and high-performance Brembo brakes.
Mach-E’s standard battery pack can be charged at home using a charger cord or a public charging station. A level 2 public charging station can add up to 20 miles of range per hour.
Rivian R1T
Rivian has designed and developed its R1T electric truck to be a high-performance off-road vehicle. Its four motors deliver torque that’s perfect for snatching speed and avoiding obstacles. And its all-electric powertrain is quiet in operation. Combined with its powerful battery, the R1T will travel at speeds of up to 60 mph.
The R1T has a range of up to 314 miles on a single charge, but you can upgrade to the Launch Edition model with a large battery pack that’s good for over 400 miles. You can also add an optional air compressor, which can preset pressure to 150 psi. If you need extra battery capacity, the R1T can be fitted with up to two additional batteries in the truck’s bed.
It has a big front trunk and a gear tunnel that extends from the front of the vehicle to the rear seats. The doors double as steps. They also offer 11.6 cubic feet of storage space.
Stellantis R1S
Rivian’s R1S is an all-electric SUV and truck designed for serious off-roading. It shares its platform with the company’s electric pickup truck. This electric vehicle has an adventurous spirit and is packed with innovative features. The cabin includes a 15.6-inch touchscreen, Chilewich flooring, vegan upholstery, and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster.
There are three drive systems for the R1S: a single motor, a dual motor, and a quad-motor. Each version offers independent air suspension with active damping. A panoramic roof is included in all Explore Edition versions. Additionally, each model has a powerful flashlight in the driver’s door.
Rivian has set up a service center in Bellevue, Washington. The company plans to start shipping the R1S by late 2023. The configurator will be open to all customers starting November 23.
Canoo truck
Canoo is a Southern California-based electric vehicle startup. Their pickup truck is competing against Tesla’s Cybertruck. The vehicle has a dual motor system that produces 550 lb-ft of torque and 600 horsepower. It also offers an innovative bed area.
The Canoo Pickup Truck features a six-foot bed with an extendable bed. It also has a side step that makes it easy to get into and out of the bed. In addition, it has a fold-down desk. There are storage dividers and wall chocks for organization.
The Canoo Electric Pickup Truck is a futuristic, yet practical vehicle. The interior has a sleek design, including two chairs. A steering wheel is also included.
The Canoo Electric Pickup truck will have an estimated 200 miles of range on a single charge. However, the price isn’t yet clear. Depending on the model, the payload could be as high as 1,800 pounds.
